Zine Workshop

A zine is an easy and enjoyable activity that requires a small story or explanation to be told in the form of a homemade magazine or comic book. This 2 day workshop will be hosted online and is open only to the high school students of Dease Lake school. The teachings will be led by accomplished Tahltan comic artist Cole Pauls, and will give Tahltan high school students an opportunity to learn and discuss their cultural history through artistic mediums. Specifically, we are aiming for this event to be a knowledgeable outlet for teaching as well as discussing Potlatch School and the lessons learned in Potlatch ceremony. Day 1 will focus on tutorials for creating Zines and discussing Potlatch, and Day 2 will be for presentations of each group’s finished product.
